And so the storytelling begins...
While relating another absurd story about my parents' mid-life crisis (or perhaps it's empty nest syndrome) today, I suddendly realized that hey, this is hilarious. Other people think it's hilarious; perhaps I should start a blog! I mean that is the "in" thing to do now a days.
Of course before I could type one letter, I had to make sure all parties involved understood that I was about to broadcast thier lives across the internet to a possibly unfathomable amount of people, so what did I do? Yup, I called my mother. She was a bit speechless. I blamed it on creative necessity and "writing what I knew". There were no blatent objections from her in the foreground or audible complaints from my father in the background, so I'm going to take that as permission to proceed.
To tell this whole story, I'll have to back track a little bit. We'll do that in a series of posts. The birds (my new nickname for them--on account of thier empty nest syndrome) leave on a cruise on Friday... yes, I'll be waiting by the phone with an open ear ready to hear any anecdotes that come out of this one.
